We are thrilled to see the tennis courts are now scheduled for a much needed rejuvenation, delayed by the pandemic. Stockport Council has secured a grant from the LTA Tennis for Britain. The work started 29th Nov 2021 – snow or no snow!
The good news is that December is not a particularly busy time for tennis playing, so the work on the court will not inconvenience too many players. It does mean the full ‘marking out’ of the lines will probably not take place until spring 2022, but temporary lines are planned in the meantime.
As you can see from the pictures, both the surface and the net need help, for better playing as well as for safety concerns.
