The Friends had a great time at the SummerFest in the Park. This amazing event, on 10th July 2022, was organised by the Heatons Post, Live music, great food, market stalls and sports tasters were among the many activities and goodies on offer.
Like other community groups at the SummerFest, we ran a traditional game – the very popular SPAT THE RAT, courtesy of the Heatons Men in Sheds.
There is something very appealing about swinging a bat at a target, especially a pesky rat. Over 175 visitors had a go at the rat, which got splatted many times over.
For the crafty and wildlife minded visitors, there were Meadow Seed Rolls to be made – enough to plant a square meter meadow somewhere in your garden.
