This autumn, a bench that had been loosened from its moorings, so to speak, found a new home.
Formerly near the bowling green the bench now is on the path leading from the Peel Moat entrance to the centre isle.
It now enjoys early morning sunshine, has a great view both of the cloverleaf field and the new flower bed near the steps.
It also provides a nice companion piece to the Martyn Hett memorial bench on the same path. The team who moved it took care to space it exactly the same distance from the retaining wall so the alignment is very pleasing.
