26th October saw the third Friends Halloween in the Park and it seemed to be a great success with all who came along. Yes, the weather was exceptionally kind, but the support of the community was fabulous – thanks to all who came along.
Even more fabulous was the hard work, time and talent of over 20 Friends volunteers contributed to making the event so much fun for all those who came along.
Enthusiastic Games Masters ran very popular traditional games – Roll A Penny, Strength-O-Meter, Hoopla and Scary Tin Pan Alley.
The Bride of Dracula drew people in to her intriguing Tombola.
The Witch at the Spooky Trail got kids searching the park for those pesky owls with their special letters.
Wonderful home baked goods, hot drink and cold drinks at the Park Pavilion helped people build up or regain strength before/after the games, trail.
Meanwhile, the Mummy on the Loose was glimpsed all over the park.
Halloween in the Park is part of Heart of the Heatons Autumn Festival – check out other events that will go on until Monday 4th November 2024
The Friends would like to also thank some other organisations who helped make the event so successful, whether it was for provision of games, the tombola drum or loan of gazebos:
